Most supplement labels are written to be skimmed past, not read. Doses are hidden inside proprietary blends; claims are chosen for how they sound rather than what can actually be backed up. We built Elaborate the other way round: start with the dose, state only what we can stand behind, and let the product argue for itself.

Every active ingredient's dose is on the label, on every product page. Most of our formulas list each ingredient individually; where a supplier gives us a combined blend rather than individually-dosed ingredients, we show its full total amount — never a vague, partial one.

Under US law, dietary supplement claims are self-substantiated by the brand rather than pre-approved by a regulator — there's no government register to check a claim against before we publish it. That puts the responsibility for keeping a claim honest on us, not a regulator, so we keep it narrow: a structure/function claim about how a nutrient supports normal body function, never a claim that a product treats, cures or prevents disease.

Before any claim appears on a product page, we check it against the ingredient's own established use, not against what a supplier's marketing sheet says. Where a claim belongs to one specific nutrient in a formula, we attribute it to that nutrient only, not to the product as a whole. Every claim is paired with the FDA's required disclaimer: these statements haven't been evaluated by the FDA, and the product isn't intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
